Karbuni is a small fishing village on the southern side of the island of Korčula. Its name derives from the traditional occupation of villagers – the making of the wooden coals - “karbon”. Karbuni is situated in a bay which is a favourite anchorage for smaller vessels, and it is in the vicinity of an archipelago of smaller islands with beautiful beaches. It is an ideal place for those who enjoy the beauty of nature, swimming and resting in the shade of pine trees. Larger places nearby are Blato and Vela Luka (6 km). Karbuni is 40 km away from Korčula. |
