Rukavac is a picturesque and an exotic village situated on the south east side of the island, just 10 km away from the ferry boat pier. Once, Rukavac has been a small fishermen's village, today it is one of the most attractive tourist destinations on the island. The village is surrounded by beautifull beaches, Srebrna as the most famous one- it is also one of the prettiest beaches in Dalmatia. Just in front of the island there are small islands with beautifull beaches appropriate for one-day boat trips. On Ravnik island you can find well known Zelena (Green) cave that fascinates with it’s beautiful emerald colour.The cave can be reached by a smaller boat, by swimming or diving. The cave is characterized by a crack on the arch of the cave through which sun rays enter leaving a trace on the sea surface. The cave is rather spacious, and the depth varies from 3 up to 5 meter.Rukavac is an ideal village for a quiet vacation, enjoyment in beautifull beaches, crystal blue sea and beautiful intact nature. It is located 10 km from the town of Vis where the ‘Culture summer’ with rich cultural-artistic programme is organised. Theater plays, different concerts, classical music nights, jazz and rock nights also take place in Vis. |
