image 1Baska voda is a well known tourist destination situated in the heart of Dalmatia, at the foot of Biokovo mountain on the western part of Makarska riviera, just 10 km from the city of Makarska. Beautifull nature, long white pebble beaches, crystal clear and warm sea is what makes this place popular destination. The locals  are engaged in tourism, fishing, and in vine, cherry and fig cultivation. The village was inhabitated already in the Roman Age which left many dig sites to testify. Over the village, on the Gradina hill there are the traces of previous settlements  and Bisantian fortress. Aside for those dig places there is the church of St. Lawrence (from  1750) and St. Nicholas (from 1889) – two beautiful examples of Dalmatian rural archtecture, malakoloski  and etnographic museum. The tourist offer is abundant and diverse, the village can offer hotels, camps, villas, private rooms and apartments, restaurants, caffes, ’konobas’ and pastry shops. There are also different shops, a bank, an excange office, a post office, an ambulance and a pharmacy. Sport and recreational amusemnets are also numerous: football, handball, tennis, table tennis, mini golf, hiking, fishing, sailing, diving... The cultural-entertainment life is rather rich with traditionally organised village and sacral festivities, and in the night time parties are being held in bars, live music and dance floors are held and there are also disco clubs. Guests can go on attractive excursions (Makarska, natural park Biokovo, Brela, Omis and rafting on river Cetina, Split, Dubrovnik, Medugorje, islands of Brac and Hvar).
