 Rogoznica is a small Dalmatian place and a port located in a deep bay, about 32 km far from Sibenik. It is situated on a peninsula (former islet Kopara was connected to the shore in the second half of the 19th century by a man-made dam). On top of the island one can find remains of the fort built by the French in 1809. The parish church was built in 1615 and the church of Saint Nicholas was preserved at the place where the Old Rogoznica had once stood.
This small Mediterranean place is famous for its beautiful beaches (pebble, stone and concrete), crystal blue sea, thick pine wood, long promenade along the shore, picturesque and protected location. There are numerous restaurants, caffe bars, pizza-places, stores, a bank, a post office...uring the summer different entertainments are held, among which the traditional fishing festival of Rogoznica is notable. There is a very strong fishing tradition, therefore the fresh fish is always available together with the homemade specialities - the fish stew (brodetto) is highly esteemed.
Rogoznica is an attractive tourist destination also for the boaters since there is one of the most beautiful marines on the Adriatic – Frapa Marina. It is situated in the well-protected Soline bay, it has 300 berths and 150 shore storage places. Nearby marina, on the peninsula Gradina, you can visit a natural phenomenon – an unusual lake Dragon's eye. It's a lake with the salt water connected to sea through cracks in the lime-sones. The lake is considered a natural bio-reactor where bio-chemical processes take place.
